内容記述 | An influence of particulate manganese contamination in the determination of dissolved form was examined. Dissolved manganese in both the filtered (through 0.6µm Nuclepore filter) and unfiltered seawater samples were concentrated by the modified method of Shigematsu et al. (1975) with DDDC (Sodium N, N-Diethyldithiocarbamate Trihydrate)-DIBK (Di-iso-buthyl Ketone) prior to the determanation by ICP (Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrophotometer). Particulate manganese collected by filtration through 0.6µm Nuclepore filter were classified into two fractions, leachable by 10% acetic acid and residual refractory manganese. Determined dissolved manganese for unfiltered samples showed higher values than filtered ones, which indicated the possibility of the contamination to the dissolved form during a solvent extraction step due to the existence of rarticulate matter. The difference of the obtained concentrations in filtered and unfiltered sample analysis correlated closely with the concentrations of total particulate manganese (the sum of leachable by acetic acid and other residual fractions). From the results shown in this paper, as 6.2% of particulate manganese contribute to the overestimate for dissolved form, so it should be necessary to subtract the contaminated fraction (6.2% of the total particulate manganese) from the obtained dissolved value in order to get a real concentration in the case of using unfiltered sample for the determination of dissolved manganese. | |||||
