| 内容記述 | Vertical distribution of water temperature, salinity and turbidity was investigated from the inner shelf to the shelf edge zone along the PN line in the East China Sea in May 1993. Time series observations of vertical profiles of water temperature, salinity and turbidity and time series recording of current and turbidity using a mooring system were also conducted on the inner shelf, the central shelf and the shelf edge. Turbidity was significantly higher at the inner shelf and decreased towards the shelf edge zone. Bottom turbid layer was observed over the shelf and the distribution pattern correlated well with the hydrographic structure (i.e., a mixing layer under strong pycnocline and/or near bottom). Although the low salinity water, the strong current near bottom and the sea bottom topography were regarded as factors generating the turbid layer, there was no strong correlation between the salinity of water and the turbidity. On the other hand, it is considered that the strong tidal curret near the bottom and the effect of the sea bottom topography play important role of generating the turbid layer. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 1993年5月に長江沖からPN線に沿って陸棚縁辺部までの濁度分布を調べると共に,内部陸棚,陸棚中央,陸棚縁において濁度の連続観測を行い,濁度分布パターンと海洋構造との関連,海底高濁度層の成因及び物質輸送について考察した. 要約は以下の通りである.(1) 濁度は全体として陸棚縁から内部陸棚域に向かうにつれて増加し,海底付近には海底高濁度層が観測された.海底高濁度層は,躍層下に発達した混合層の分布と良く一致していた.(2) 内部陸棚域の表層には,長江起源と思われる低塩分水の影響がみられ,高濁度が形成されていた.これは河川堆積物及びフロント域において生産された生物起源粒子の影響と考えられた.しかし,表層における濁度と塩分との間には必ずしも相関はみられず,その他の要因の関与が推察された.(3) PN11 及びPN6の海底付近に高濁度層の発達が顕著であったが,これは海底地形(凹地,海底谷)による影響と考えられた.(4) 内部陸棚域,陸棚中央における流れには半日周期の流れの影響が強く,一方陸棚縁においては弱かった.また,底層における流速と濁度との間には明確な相関はみられなかったが,流速と濁度の生成との間には関連がみられた. | |||||
