| 内容記述 | Marutoku B nets (MTB-net) have been used as the standard net for the spawning surveys of pelagic fishes in Japan since 1952. Recently the Remodelled NORPAC net (LNP-net) has been suggested to be the new standard net. So, comparative experiments of in-situ samplings of eggs and larvae between these two nets were undertaken at 47 stations to compare the practical efficiencies of the nets in the spawning survey ground in the southern waters of Kyushu. The two types of nets were mounted on a net frame and combined in a tandem-like, eyeglass formation and simultaneously hauled from 150m depth to the surface. The volume of water filtered by the LNP-net was significantly higher than that of the MTB-net (average 14.6%). However, the plankton wet weight/haul and the total number of fish eggs, fish larvae, sardine eggs and sardine larvae/haul were not significantly different between the two net types. When these values were compared against the volume of filtered water (m³), only the plankton wet weight/m³ of the MTB-net was found to be significantly higher than that of the LNP-net. | |||||
