| 内容記述 | Swarms of copepod were observed and collected by SCUBA diving in Shijiki Bay, southwest of Hirado Island, western Kyushu, Japan, from early spring to midsummer through 1983 to 1985. Copepods were distributed densely just above the sea bottom in daytime forming swarm of various sizes and shapes according to the configuration of sea bottom and season. Nine swarming copepod species, Acartia omorii, A. steueri, A. sinjiensis, Oithona oculata, O. davisae, Tortanus longipes, T. rubidus, Eurytemora pacifica and Pseudodiaptomus nihonkaiensis were identified. Each swarm consisted of copepodites in various stages, sometimes of a single species and sometimes of a few species. Developmental stage, sex composition, swarming shape and location of these species varied seasonally. Swarms were stationary in the spatial position when the flow of water was weak. There are two processes of swarming on copepods. The first is the increasing of copepod density near the sea bottom in daytime through their diurnal vertical migration, and the second is that of copepods concentrating and forming densely into the lee of bottom materials, thus depending on flow of water that is usually moderate. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 1983年8月,1984年5月~7月および1985年4月~8月にわたり,九州の北西部に位置する平戸島志々伎湾内でスクーバ潜水し,かいあし類のスオームの観察と採集を行った.かいあし類は昼間,海底直上に分布し,海底の形状に応じてスオームを形成した.スオームをつくるかいあし類は,Acartia 属3種(A.omorii,A. steueri A. sinjiensis) と Oithona 属2種 (O. ocu-lata, O. davisae), Tortanus 2種(T. longipes T.rubidus), Eurytemora pacifica 及び Pseudodiaptomus nihonkaiensis の9種であった.これらのスオームは1種,あるいは数種のかいあし類のさまざまな成長段階のコペポダイトで構成されていた.種組成,成長段階組成,性比,スオームの形状,及び形成される場所は季節的に変化した.スオームは水の流れが弱いときには,空間的分布位置を変えることなく形成された.また,海底の岩,寄り藻,底生生物が噴出した砂山,窪み,刺網,ごみの周囲にもしばしば形成された.湾内のスオームの分布,形成状況から,かいあし類のスオームは,昼夜の鉛直移動と流れにより海底の特定な場所に集積し,維持された結果と考えられた. | |||||
