| 内容記述 | 1) 普通海水中におけるアコヤガイの糞量と稀釈海水中における糞量とを定量的に測定し，稀釈海水中における糞量の減少程度からアコヤガイに影響を及ぼす稀釈海水の濃度の限界をしらべた。 2) アコヤガイの糞量に及ぼす稀釈海水の影響は比重（σ15）で1,01800～1,02000（S, 24.6%～27.2%）からやや顕著となり，鰓の絨毛運動による結城（S, 20%），小林（S, 22.6%）の報告より幾分高めの海水濃度で影響が認められた。 3) 2)の結果は小林の報告におけるごとく馴れの問題にも因るものと思うが従来比較的に等閑視されていた比重の範囲内でも摂餌量に直接影響するから，長時間にわたって，あるいは頻繁に低比重海水が出現する場合には，たとえ貝の生存には危険がなくとも成長や真珠の品質に影響があるものと推察される。 |

| 内容記述 | The effect of diluted sea water on the feeding of pearl oyster was investigated quantitatively with special regard to the difference of the amount of true feces. The results are summarized as follows : (1) The effects of diluted sea water on the amount of true feces were conspicuous below 1,01800~1,0200 specific gravity (S,24,6~27,2%.). (2) According to the results obtained in this experiment, following consideration may be possible. In such circumstances the low salinity sea water is frequently occurred, growth of shells and quality of pearls were disturbed, even if the shells were not perished. |
