| 内容記述 | Hydrographic observations have been made in order to investigate the feasibility to monitor water mass distributions by satellite APT (Automatic Picture Transmission) infrared images of NOAA-6 and -7. We found a good correlation (r ≒ 0.9 and SE ≒ 0.6-0.8˚C) between satellite-measured temperatures and sea surface temperatures taken within 24 hours of the satellite overpass. Moreover, satellite-measured temperature distributions corresponded closely with subsurface temperature structures inspite of the strong stratification. Consequently, by refering the two sets of data we can delineate the water mass distributions of the Oyashio, shelf water, and a warm eddy off Kushiro. The shelf water was found to be affected evidently by the Soya warm current, and flowed out offshore along the rim of the warm eddy as the eddy moved north and approached to the continental shelf. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 1984年10月に得られた時系列的APT赤外画像にみられる道東海域の海況の短期的変化について,同時期に行われた海洋観測結果に基づいて検討し,以下の結果が得られた。1.赤外画像の温度表示値は衛星通過時刻からほぼ一日以内の調査船による表面水温値とよい相関を示した。また,帯状暖水,親潮域及び暖水塊の表層以深の水温構造ともよい対応を示した。2.時系列的赤外画像により,大陸棚上の沿岸水が暖水塊の北上·接岸に伴い,暖水塊の縁辺に沿って沖合に流出する現象が観測され,調査船による観測結果からも支持された。 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
