| 内容記述 | The transplantation of mantle tissues was carried out by using two groups of the second generation of Japanese pearl oyster, Pinctada fucata martensii, selected for color of nacre in shell, yellow and white. The mantle tissues from the group of pearl oysters selected for white nacre in shell were transplanted into the host selected for white. The transplantation was also conducted in the group of oysters selected for yellow nacre in the same way. Yellow pearls were produced at higher rate in the later transplantation than in the former and the pearls produced from the later operation were significantly heavier than those from the former one. No significant difference was observed in the mortality of pearl oyster and the rate of low grade of pearls between two groups. These results suggested that the pearls without yellow pigments can be produced more effectively by the selective breeding at some extent. | |||||||
